The movement is made in the US and is a high torque quartz mechanism which comes with one (1) AA battery. 

Lets talk about the gorgeous matte black 14 gauge metal ring that surrounds our clocks. It's 2.5" deep and is hand rolled and welded by a local metal company and then sent to get professionally powder coated.
